Apple’s AI plans go beyond the previously announced Apple Intelligence launches on iPhone, iPad and Mac. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the company is also working on integrating these features into its Vision Pro headsets.
It’s not the most surprising step — if Apple Intelligence (a whole bunch of features, including improved Siri, proofreading tools and custom emojis) is the key to Apple’s future, then why shouldn’t it be available on the recent Apple gadgets? But despite everything that is impressive about the Vision Pro, it remains an unusually expensive device with a (so far) limited audience.
Apple Intelligence will not be launched on the Vision Pro this year, Gurman says. Apple’s biggest challenge is to rethink what the features will look like in mixed reality and not on a MacBook or iPhone screen.
Speaking of Vision Pro sales, Gurman reports that Apple is also making changes to the way the headset is paraded in stores, offering potential buyers the ability to view their personal media on the Vision Pro, and changing the headband from the solo loop to the dual loop for more convenience.
We also have new Apple rumors from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who says that his recent supply chain survey leads him to believe that the company plans to mass produce AirPods with infrared cameras by 2026. These new AirPods could support new spatial audio experiences and gesture controls when used with the Vision Pro.
